About the Torquay Place Leadership Board

The Torquay Place Leadership Board was established in 2025 as an ambitious strategic partnership dedicated to promoting and supporting the long-term development of Torquay.

In early 2026, the Board secured £20 million over a ten-year period through the Government's Pride in Place programme. Working in partnership with Torbay Council and engaging closely with local communities, organisations and residents, the Board is responsible for identifying and developing projects that will deliver the greatest benefits for Torquay and its people.

The Board brings together a diverse range of community representatives and business leaders and is independently chaired. Funding decisions are made collectively, guided by priorities identified through consultation with local residents and stakeholders.

The Board's ambition is to harness the knowledge, expertise and passion of those with a strong connection to Torquay, ensuring that investment is used effectively to celebrate and strengthen the town's culture and heritage while addressing current challenges and unlocking future opportunities

The Boards priorities are:

  • Improving our town centre
  • Improving our neighbourhoods
